Dogs with urinary crystals need a suitable supplement feed to a homemade feeding plan in order to balance nutritional imbalances. The supplement feed for dogs - Vitamin Optimix Struvit & Urat - provides minerals and vitamins for dogs that would be missing in a self-prepared feeding plan. The magnesium and phosphorus content is low as required, the methionine contained ensures a urinary pH-level in the slightly acidic to neutral range.

Vitamin Optimix Struvit & Urat keeps the urine pH-value of the dog permanently stable and ensures a demand-oriented supply of phosphorus and magnesium. At the same time Vitamin Optimix Struvit & Urat ensures the ideal nutrient supply for raw and cooked food. Homemade diets without a suitable supplement do not contain all of the important minerals and vitamins. This can permanently create nutrient imbalances.

For additional acidification of the urinary pH-level e. g. Astoral Methio Tabs or acidifying pastes may be necessary (see feeding instructions). DL-methionine is used to acidify the urine and helps the urinary pH to shift to the desired range of 6.2 to 6.5 - the value, that struvite crystals need to dissolve. Once the struvite crystals or stones are dissolved, the additional amount of DL-methionine should be discontinued.
